Who says you can’t have birding trips in the summer? It certainly wasn’t us.
Join us for a fun trip to the wetlands area at Richland Creek WMA (North) on Saturday, August 14th at 8 am. This is near Fairfield, Texas.
During a recent trip to the area, I saw a wide variety of birds including Painted Buntings, Wood Storks, Snowy Egrets, Black-necked Stilts, and more. There also have been several sightings of Roseate Spoonbills lately. (Not by me–they hide from me)
This trip is open to everyone, not just Audubon Society members. Very little walking will be involved as this is mostly a caravan situation.
There are no facilities. Bring water, insect repellent, and anything you might need for a 3 hour (or so) adventure.
This is a WMA and Limited Public Use Permit is required for this area ($12). You can get one anywhere they sell Fishing and Hunting Licenses or order it online.
